Creating a Transitional Scene with Schedules

When creating a transitional scene it is important to follow the order of instructions accurately, especially when adding a schedule to your scene.

For this situation we would like a group of lights to turn on at SUNSET and slowly transition from OFF to 75% brightness over 30 minutes.  Then slowly transition from 75% brightness to OFF from 11:30 PM till 12:00 AM (30 minute transition time).

This will require us to create 2 schedules and 2 scenes with transitions.

  • Schedule 1 - Sunset to 12:00 AM
  • Schedule 2 - 11:30 PM -  12:00 AM

  • Scene 1 - OFF to 75% brightness over a 30 minute transition
  • Scene 2 - 75% brightness to OFF over a 30 minute transition

1. Begin by logging into your account

2. Create Schedules 1 and 2 (It is important to create schedules before scenes)

Pause and scrub movie if needed

  • Schedule 1 - Sunset to 12:00 AM (every day of the week)
  • Schedule 2 - 11:30 PM -  12:00 AM (every day of the week)

3. Create Scene 1

Scene 1 - OFF to 75% brightness over a 30 minute transition on 2 groups

Name Scene 1, add the groups included in the scene, set the groups to 75% brightness,  turn on transition for 30 minutes and set to start "Included Devices OFF" then add Schedule 1.

4. Create Scene 2

  • Scene 2 - 75% brightness to OFF over a 30 minute transition on same 2 groups

Name Scene 2, add the groups included in the scene, set the groups brightness to OFF,  turn on transition for 30 minutes and set to start "From other scene", select Scene 1, then add
Schedule 2.
